51 BEN WEAVER “Mirepoix and Smoke” (Bloodshot Records) (Ben seems to be in a transition phase finding it difficult to scale the dizzy heights of ‘Stories under Nails’ and ‘The Ax In The Oak’ which should have propelled him into the upper echelons of stardom. Slightly disappointing though I was this is still good enough to be one of the year’s highlights and the LP version is very reasonably priced and comes with a free download. In a nutshell ‘The Leonard Cohen of the 21st century’). *
52 STEVEN WILSON “Insurgentes” (OK, it’s 2009 but I just caught up with it in 2010) *

55 and counting!- it just goes to show what a good year it has been. Note also how many of the releases are from indie labels! Also, a very healthy 26 new releases proving the new can compete with the old classics!
