My Wayne craves a bit of escapism and considers taking a 'trip'. As usual, things are not as they seem!
A story that could have been developed into something bigger. A sad and powerful message (A warning to mankind really) is unveiled at the end!

An inventor of a superweapon is not as clever as he thinks!

THE DEATHS OF BEN BAXTER (31 pages)
Orginally publshed in Galaxy, 1957
There are two main characters- Ben Baxter whose untimely death precipitates the 'great blight of '03' and Ned Brynne who precipitates the untimely death!
So three teams are dispatched into 3 different 'probability worlds' to see if they can change history.Half way through you get the general idea of how it's all going to end but the 'devil is in the detail' and things don't work out quite as you expected. The plot is as Ingenuous as ever and the 31 pages pass very quickly.
