I saw a
flower and I wanted to pick it
but it was not mine buried in a thicket
I climbed thru thorns went out on a limb
when the limb broke, I fell in
the thorns
stuck me in my heart and back
burned my soul,charred it black
the flower was beautiful to my eye
not mine to pick, not mine to pine
slip,slip,slip, of my silly lip
I hope I didn't sink the ship
Did I wilt
this flower because of my cause
this brings me sorrow, half hearted applause
the flower in the thicket was not mine to have
I should have read the blaring signs
driving in circles till the break of dawn
to late to fix what I did wrong
life can turn on a dime
in the end you'll reap your crimes
just like
Adam and the apple tree
his selfishness altered destiny
I am like Adam I am a mortal man
when I'm pricked I hurt and bleed
flower in the thicket your not mine
sorry I tried to pick you
