Welcome to Paradox One. The Great Paradox One Autumn For Sale / Trade list is now available. Go here for info. Updated with Phils Festive 40 for 2008! After some consideration I have made the decision to call time on Paradox One. With immediate effect all CDs will be deleted. It is not quite the end though as I have continued to work with other musicians and there are some unreleased tracks and remixes to be added to the My Space site. In the face of dwindling reviews and general disinterest I suppose the decision to call time was inevitable. However, I’d like to ‘accentuate the positive’ and even now Tony Currie at Radio Six continues to play my music (‘Son of Little Green Men’) and I thank him for that. I have made a lot of friends and have a lot of people to thank over my seven years as Paradox One. There’s Rick Ray who released my first four albums on his Neurosis label, Stuart Hamilton who takes care of my website and set up My Space for me, There’s also my greatest fan, Don Williams who e-mails me regularly with words of encouragement. Tim Jones and Terri Burgess also deserve my warmest thanks for their support. Acknowledgements for radio play and reviews will remain on the website for reference but particular thanks go to Garry Lee, Mark Doremus and Jerry Kranitz. Thanks also to the musicians I’ve collaborated with and to those who have encouraged me like old friend Ken Senior. I have been very lucky in the special people I have got to know. I am now going to concentrate on reviewing, writing and promoting music and alas have found less and less time at my disposal to work on music and to keep my Robert Sheckley sub-station updated. (R.I.P, Bob). Although this will be discontinued, I would be more than happy to continue discourse with sci-fi enthusiasts and provide information where I can. My ‘recommended releases’ section will also be discontinued but I am gratified to think that I have turned people on to some special music. I will continue to review and write for Acid Dragon magazine and for Esoteric Recordings (for Progressive Ears) and freelance for numerous labels in various genres including rock, blues and jazz. I will also continue to promote and support other musicians and hope to continue playing in collaboration with other like minded souls. I will be happy to hear from you on phil@paradoxone.co.uk ! . |
